STEMgis Animations - Ross Sea Icebergs

Animation of MODIS images of Ross Sea, Antarctica.

This animation shows an example of 3D animation in the new version of STEMgis. Elevation data and overlay images may both be animated.

Note the rotating iceberg in the centre of the display. The animation runs from 19/11/2004 to 13/03/2005. Some days are missing due to cloud cover.

Technical detail. The red colours indicate areas of ice, black is sea while the clounds shown up as white colours. Elevation data is taken from the GTOPO30 dataset.
